Cheryl Ratzlaff [Children]

I work closely with the children’s pastor to oversee programming and leadership of children’s ministry. I have found a joy in Children’s Ministries that has kept me involved for most of the years I’ve been here. I have a passion for purposefully teaching God’s word to children so that it becomes how they live life every day!

BASIC STUFF: My husband Stan and I live in Yarrow and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We were married in 1987 and have 3 wonderful children – Paul, Josh and Becky. We’ve been attending Central Heights Church since we were married.   

EDUCATION: Certificate in Legal Secretary, First National School of Business in Abbotsford

INTERESTS AND FAVORITES:

• Places: I love camping in the Okanagan with my family.
• Music I like: I’m an 80’s girl so of course that is my generation of music, but I think people might be surprised to find out that I have an appreciation for a wide variety of music – classical, blues, opera, country.  Right now my favorite CD’s are Michael Buble’s “It’s Time” and The Imperials “Legacy 1977-1988”.
• Reading: I love to read.  Some of my favorite authors are Ted Dekker, Francine Rivers, Randy Alcorn and an old favorite Eugenia Price.
• Favorites on TV: CSI – all three, Grey’s Anatomy, Numb3rs, Canadian/American Idol, TLC’s What Not To Wear and The Food Network cooking shows.
• Sport Teams: I’m not a sports fan.
• Movies:  Drama, comedy, Sci-Fi and of course a good “chick flick”
• Hobbies: reading, playing “Skipbo” or most games, baking, watching Disney movies with my kids, Coke and chocolate.
• Dislikes: I’m not a morning person.
• Odd Facts: I think I must be growing up – I’m finally learning to like coffee, flavoured and sweetened of course.
• Significant Scripture: John 14:16

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever”. It reminds me that we are not alone.
