My affiliation with Central Heights Church goes back to 1995. My husband (Richard) and I moved from Surrey to Abbotsford to purchase our first home. We happened to have some friends that attended CHC, so we decided to give it a try. Our first Sunday there we noticed an ad in the bulletin for a job as receptionist/secretary in the church office, so I applied for the job and got it!
From 1995 to 2001 I worked for the church in various capacities, beginning as the receptionist and ending up doing the church graphics. I left in May of 2001 when we adopted our precious boy Luke. After my 8 months of parental leave I was pleased that the church asked me to produce the monthly church newsletter, which I can do from my home. In October of 2003 I had a beautiful baby girl, then in May of 2006 we had a baby boy. Luke, Alexandra and Jed have been such a joy to us and I am so grateful that I am able to stay at home with them while fitting in the work I do for the church.
I enjoy being a Care Group leader (along with my husband) and feel very connected to the other couples in our group. I also enjoy helping out in the church nursery. We were also Youth Group sponsors for our first few years at Central Heights and enjoyed working alongside the wonderful youth pastors there. Central Heights has been a place where we feel we are at home. We have made many wonderful friends here and God has touched us in many special ways through the community at Central Heights and through the leadership.
