Young Adults

Young_Adults_2012-3.jpgThe Young Adults Ministry at Central Heights Church is mostly self-led by our younger members who have a passion for Christ and a love for others. Our mission is to engage, equip, and empower people to make a difference.

If you are new to Central Heights and want to connect with other young adults (post-high school to late 20’s) there are a number of ways to get involved.

Small Groups

Young_Adults_2012-1.JPGThere are Women’s, Men’s, Mixed and Married groups that meet on a weekly basis. If you would like to get plugged into a Small Group please email us at youngadults@centralheightschurch.com and we will do our best to get you connected to a group.

Big Group Events

On the third Sunday of each month we will break from small groups for a chance to get together. For details about location, time and specifics check out our Facebook page. If you have an idea of something to do or want to help out with an event let us know!

Stay in the loop of spur of the moment events like hikes, games or hang out sessions by joining our Facebook group - Central Heights Young Adults (College and Career) - and keeping our updates in your Newsfeed.

Sunday, March 31:

Easter Sunrise Service. 6:30am at McDonald Park (take the No. 3 Road exit and go South to the end) in Abbotsford. It will be cold so wear warm clothes, bring blankets and a hot drink. Also bring something to sit on and an umbrella (just in case). Come for a time of worship and to hear Tyson Kliem speak a bit about Easter! All ages welcome!

Sunday School Classes

Adult Bible Classes happen most Sunday mornings at 9:30. There is a Young Adults Bible Class as well as multi-generational classes. For more information about the current classes, schedule and locations check out the weekly schedule on the church website or visit the Information Booth on a Sunday morning.

Life Coaching

LifeCoaching by John Thoutenhoofd is available to all Young Adults who wish to connect on a one-on-one basis. If your desire is to grow as a whole person including your heart (emotions), your soul (spiritual), your mind (intellectual), your strength (physical), and social (others)? Jesus challenged us love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength…. and for us to love others as we love ourselves.

A little of John’s heart for Life Coaching:

“Life is defined by a collection of choices. Not to choose is a choice. Yet, there are so many choices that it is easy to get paralyzed. Right after High School Graduation the adventure begins and you get to shape what your life will look like for years to come.

It will be packed with pivotal moments, occasions, and decisions. It is going to be an adventure filled with a number of highs and lows, successes and failures, thrills and regrets. That is what makes this Young Adult world a place where you could probably handle some friendly guidance and input to keep your path moving in a positive direction.

God wants to be a shaping part of your life. In every area of your life the Bible has wise council. Whether it be on the topic of Employment, Education, Dating, Sexuality, Life Habits, Spirituality, or Relationships, God wants to be a part of your choices.

I’d love to meet with you on campus at UFV if you are a student or join you for a coffee at one of our local coffee shops! I am available weekdays and Sunday mornings.”

If LifeCoaching is something that interests you we would like to come along side and join you in your journey!
