Dear Central Heights Family,

This is Week 2 of our Ministry Fair in the church foyer.  Let me encourage you to take a few minutes before or after the services to check out the various things that are happening this upcoming year.

This Sunday (Sept18) our regular ABCs (Adult Bible Classes) start at 9:40 am.  Please note some room changes.  Tim and Doreen Buhler’s class (Psalms) has been moved from Room 3012 (last year) to the Activity Room, and the Celebration Class has moved from Room 1004 (last year), back to Room 3012.

There are 2 new classes that are starting on Sunday Sept 25, and I’ll briefly introduce them...

1)      The BASICs class teaches foundational principles from God’s word that are vitally important for every believer.  It is being taught by Peter Dahl, it will be held in the Choir Room, and starts NOT this Sunday, but next - Sunday Sept 25.

2)      The Sacred Marriage is a DVD series by best-selling author and international speaker Gary Thomas.  One of the themes of his message is that God is more interested in making us holy than he is in making us happy.  Blair and Lolita Innes will be facilitating the class in Room 3005 (The Board Room) and starts NOT this Sunday but next - Sunday Sept 25.

Central Heights Children's Ministry will be selling the Entertainment Book in September!

If you plan on purchasing this great money saver, please consider buying it at the church.  All proceeds will be going to the Children's Ministry. The books will be for sale on Sunday Sept. 18 and Sunday Sept. 25 after the 1st service and before and after the 2nd service. 

The books are $46 and are good for over a year (until November of 2012)!  For more info – please visit the Children’s Ministry Booth in the foyer this Sunday.

There are 3 retreats that are happening this weekend that I’d like to ask you to pray for.  Both our Middle School and High School youth are having their fall retreat at Camp Firwood in Bellingham, with over 100 youth and leaders attending!  Please pray for protection for all of them, that great relationships will be built and strengthened, and that God would work powerfully amongst them this weekend! 

Our Women’s Ministries Leadership Team is also away on a retreat this weekend.  Please pray for them in the same way!

This Sunday we continue in our series “Lessons on Newness from the Early Church”.  Tim Klassen will be speaking from Acts 1:9-26, on the topic “Waiting for the Promise: Living in the In Between”.  I know I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you can join us!

PLEASE NOTE: On Thanksgiving weekend we will be having ONE SERVICE on Sunday, Oct 9 at 10:00am.
