Return to Worship Centre
We are currently planning on returning to our Worship Centre on June 27th. We anticipate that all work will be done and we will have received an Occupancy Permit by that time. That Sunday we will have one service at 10:45am, with Sunday School at 9:30am.
Repair Work
Repairs began on January 18th, with the Dueck brothers providing professional work in remedial work on the trusses, and installing additional trusses and columns as required. Most of the work under the Worship Centre has been completed, and work is now proceeding on the trusses under the Foyer, pending finalized drawings for these. Derrick and Will are giving direction to a steady group of volunteers, who have been involved in tearing down and cleaning up drywall as needed, and assisting with installation and repair of the trusses. The concrete has been poured on the main floor and new carpet has been laid in the Worship Centre. Some benches needed repairs, which can be exhausting work! With the additional trusses installed, some of the sprinkler systems needed to be installed differently, and an effective plan detailed to ensure fire suppression.
We are now looking to start cleaning up the Worship Centre, and one of our Sunday School classes has volunteered to bring in a crew of volunteers to clean, shampoo and vacuum. This area has not been used for two years, and much has occured in it during that time, causing a lot of dust.
Work continues daily, and we are very thankful to the Dueck brothers and all the volunteers who have given some of their time and energy to getting the work done.
On March 18th, a group of our seniors from the Living Hope class volunteered their day to cleanup, dust and vacuum the Worship Centre. Many thanks to these enthusiastic workers!
