On-line Donations

As people's habits and methods of handling their finances have changed over the years, we are seeking to fit in with those habits and enable the methods that our people are using. Many of you currently pay most if not all of your bills "on-line", that is, through your bank from your computer. You sign in to your bank, select "bill payment", and take care of your monthly obligations.

In former times, you paid your bills by taking cash or a cheque into the institution that required payment, and paid the bill. You did the same for your donations, bringing cash or a cheque on a Sunday morning and depositing it into the offering bag.

Times have changed. Many of you carry little or no cash with you. Neither do you carry your cheque book with you. If you need to pay for something, you use a debit or credit card. So when the offering bag comes by, you remind yourself that next week you need to remember to bring something along for the offering. Next week, the same. Habits no longer include having something available to "drop" into the offering bag.

Therefore, along with the Interac machine available in the foyer or at the church office, we are making available the ability to make your donations on-line, from your computer. So when you are paying your monthly bills, this easily becomes part of your pattern.

Currently, we are set up with Paypal to process these donations. You are able to donate even without an account, but might want to consider setting up an account with Paypal to ease the process. We do not encourage the use of credit cards if you cannot pay off the full balance regularly.

These donations will be fully receipted, the same as all other methods of giving.
